Bible Study Fellowship – Men’s Group for Chico meets in our Canon Reed Hall weekly. This is the first men’s BSF group to meet in Chico, and is a satellite from the Redding study. St. Augustine’s is happy to host this important pursuit of God’s Word for men in our city.
Chico Police Chaplains Association – Father Peter Hansen has been the President of the police chaplaincy since 1999. The Chico Police Chaplaincy is a volunteer unit created to provide non-denominational physical, mental and spiritual support to the City of Chico Police Department personnel and victims of crimes and tragedies in the greater Chico, California, area. The Chico Police Chaplains Association assists the City of Chico Police Department in training of chaplains in police procedures, safety, first aid, radio communications and other protocols as required for the performance of the duties of the Chico Police Chaplains. The Chico Police Chaplains provide chaplaincy services as directed by the City of Chico Police Department.
Chico Street Pastors – comprised of Christian clergy and laity, this group follows the path laid by the English in reclaiming the night in downtown regions where alcohol, drug, homelessness and occasional violence had reigned for years with only police response. Now citizens are patrolling these sidewalks and streets, in prayer, with the love of Christ, and help for those in true need. Fr. Hansen helped to launch this group on its management team, and St. Augustine’s proudly sponsors these efforts. Street Pastors is an inter-denominational Church response to urban problems, engaging with people on the streets to care, listen and dialogue.
Fusion Church – this church plant, pastored by the Rev. Jeremy Rhodes, meets Saturday evenings in Canon Reed Hall. “We are a community filled with faith, hope and love through Jesus Christ. We see people coming to faith, being baptized and becoming disciples. We envision God’s people reaching out in love and serving the city—living out their faith everyday.”
Korean Seventh Day Adventist Church – pastored by the Rev. Samuel Lee, meets Saturday mornings at 10:00 a.m. in our sanctuary.
